About once a month, Pamela is invited to co-host Samm Brown’s “For The Record” (KFPK – 90.7, Los Angeles). Samm Brown’s For the Record is the only weekly radio talk show that focuses exclusively on the behind-the-scenes of the 700 billion dollar entertainment, music and recording industry and its body politics. The show airs every Sunday at 2 p.m. PST (Pacific Standard Time).
Pictured here with Samm (far right) and the late great John Braheny, who was indeed the Songwriter’s best friend for decades. Founder of LASS (Los Angeles Songwriters’ Showcase) with Len Chandler; John was the author of “The Craft & Business of Music,” one of the most enduring books on the music business; and a frequent speaker for songwriter groups across the United States. John is mourned and missed.

When Pamela was approached by Leon Sylvers III and Evelyn “Champagne” King to write “Shakedown” Pamela asked “what does that mean?” They said, what do you think it means? She replied, “I don’t know, a police bust?” Evelyn said, “Yeah, but make it a love song!” And that’s how that unusual lyric came about.
