van Gogh by van Eck
Van Gogh by Van Eck, on Private Sounds Records, represents nearly 2 years of exciting and fulfilling creativity for Pamela, who suggested to Dutch artist Diederick van Eck that he sing not about or to Vincent Van Gogh, but actually as the voice of the Artist. The album features Van Eck's vocals on 12 songs inspired by 12 of the Artist's most memorable artworks. On this groundbreaking project, which was imagined and developed by Van Eck as a unique way to fuse Art and Music, as well as to pay homage to the greatest of Dutch Artists; Oland has written lyrics, album liner notes, and website copy-also associate producing. Her partner Tom Harriman has composed, produced, arranged and conducted this world-class album for their company TOPA Music. The album features some of the best musicians in the Industry, and much of it was recorded at Capitol Records Studios. Featuring a 42-page art book designed by multi-Grammy nominated artist Andy Engel, using transparencies from the Van Gogh Museum and other museums, the album and a DVD directed by Dan Harris, is currently featured in a 5-month exhibition at the Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam, entitled "Van Gogh and His Fellow Expressionists." The exhibition will travel to Ronald S. Lauder's avant-garde Neue Gallery in New York City for the five months following. Tours in South Korea and Japan are expected to follow.
